Literacy

Our writing programme is developing skills to writing including sentence structures (http://www.english-grammar-revolution.com/sentence-structure.html) and students will begin to write an exposition.

Reading groups continue to make progress with their learning. It is important that students are reading for leisure but also reading for knowledge.

Mathematics and Statistics

The Alpha group have continued to develop their number knowledge and strategies while our Beta group have begun to learn the Algebra strand.

Reminders

Uniform - Our school uniform should be worn to and from school everyday with Friday afternoon being an exception due to sport.

PE Uniform - Students should be bringing their PE uniform every day in their bag. Our winter sports teams will begin trainings this week, if they haven't already.  The correct uniform is navy blue shorts with the Merrin PE top.

Home learning - Continue to make progress with Te Kotiritiri. We are asking for a big push with multiplication basic facts for this week to ensure students are making progress through all curriculum strands.
