Road Safety with Constable Richard
The Year 1 and 2 children have enjoyed having lessons with Constable Richard Brunton as part of the NZ Police 'Safe Walking' Programme. Our Manaakitanga progression is "I can be safe at school and outside of school. I can cross the road safely."
All of the children had a lesson practising 'Stop, Look, Listen' on the school driveway. Children were given road safety questions to share with their whānau. The next day, the classes went outside to practise walking across the road in the traffic. Our thanks goes to Constable Richard and parent helpers for their time.
