Yr 5-8 Athletics Day - Monday 17th
Due to the inclement weather last Friday, the Year 5-8 Athletics Day will take place tomorrow, Monday 17th October. The Year 4's will also participate in the sprint finals beginning at 2pm. The names of the children who will be participating in the sprints finals are in the attached documents.
Tomorrow your child/children will need to come to school in their correct PE uniform, wearing trainers, with their school sunhat, plenty of lunch and a water bottle. The Year 4's should come to school in their uniform and bring their PE gear with them.
Spiked shoes are okay to use but they must be checked by Matua Peri to ensure the spike length is regulation length.
The events will begin at approx 9.15am and a timetable is attached to this article. We ask that children are at school by 8.30am for roll call.
We will require parents to support the teachers on the disciplines eg. high jump, so if you are able to help can you please send Matua Peri an email (perimarks@merrin.school.nz) or catch up with him at school tomorrow morning.
There will be a morning tea for parents in the Merrin School Hall from 10.35 - 11.05am. Please note that the morning tea break for the children and teachers is from 10.45 - 11.00am. The PTA has kindly volunteered to cater for parents and staff at this time.
Should we need to postpone again for any reason we will endeavour to notify the community as soon as possible via email, Facebook and the Merrin School website.
