Week 5 Notices and Events

Tania Gallagher —

We have a busy week ahead with lots of fun activities for the Year 4 children....

Week 5 is fun filled with two days of 'Camp Experiences' as well as continuing our exciting learning.

Lots of children and parents have been asking about our new library link. The children have all been given their passwords to log in and find out more information about the books we have in the library. The link is: http://aiscloud.nz/MRR05/

Attached is a list of recommended apps that you can put on your child's device. These need to be loaded at home with parental permission. Please have a look at them with your child and add them so we can then use them in the classroom. The apps we are recommending are apps that we have used in the past and are suitable learning apps.

On Wednesday 2nd March we have our camp experience at Blue Skies & Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre. The children are allowed to wear mufti for this outing. We will be leaving school at 9.15 and returning by 3pm.  Please ensure your child brings the following items for this day:

  • Tog bag
  • Towel, togs and goggles (optional)
  • Warm clothing, e.g. jacket
  • Large packed lunch
  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • School hat

On Thursday  3rd March we have the Top Team Challenge. Again the children can wear mufti for the day. Please ensure your child brings the following:

  • Extra set of clothing
  • Large lunch
  • Water Bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • School hat

We still require some more parent help on this day from 10:15am until 12:00pm. Please email us if you are able to help for this time.

Our home learning expectations are as follows:

Children need to read their books to an adult every night and be prepared to have it available the next day for learning. Books need to be returned on a Friday. New books will be given out each week.

IXL - children should be learning at their level. We would still like the children to be practicing statistics - data and graphs as this aligns with what we are learning in the classroom.

Please remember to return your chocolate money to the school office. The PTA appreciates your support.

Have a great weekend
