Girl Guiding New Zealand...
Girl Guiding New Zealand’s registration process is still the same! To register a brownie, guide or ranger go to https://girlguidingnz.org.nz/virtualgroupguidingnz/
To register a pippin go to https://girlguidingnz.org.nz/explore/
Girl Guiding New Zealand is currently on ‘holiday’ until the 24th April so leaders and girls can have a rest but you can still register and find out about holiday packs and other fun activities made for girls during the holidays and soon you can be a part of a unit.
What is the difference between Pippins, Brownies, Guides and Rangers?
Pippins, age 5-6 - The adventure starts here! Pippins make friends, take on challenges, go on adventures and earn badges that show what you have learnt.
Brownies, age 7-9 ½ - Brownies are becoming more aware and independent. Brownies help to choose what badges they complete and do these as a unit, team or as individuals.
Guides, age 9 - 12 ½ - At Guides you are growing into a leader. Guides make decisions about what challenge they take on next with support from volunteer leaders whether it’s planning your own camp or making rafts!
Rangers, age 12 ½ - 17 - At Rangers you set your own goals and achieve them! You might travel to international camps/events and help lead younger groups to share what you have learnt.
What is Pippin Explore?
Girl Guiding New Zealand has developed an online platform to deliver the programme to Pippins! Explore is different from #VIRTUALGROUPGUIDINGNZ, as girls are provided with activities to do with family and to do as an individual, they also belong to a unit. Explore girls are not a part of a unit - maybe there isn’t one nearby however they are still invited to camps and events so they can meet other Guiding members their age. Currently, there is only Explore Pippins but later on, in April Explore Brownies will be launched!
