These are the results of the 2016 Australian Mathematics Competition.
Special congratulations go to Takuto T., David D., James L., Woojin S. and Ethan N. who achieved High Distinction in this exam.
Takuto T. is further recognised by his achievement of, ‘Best in School’ which is recognition given to the highest overall score at Merrin School. Ethan N. who sat the Yr 8 exam instead of the Yr 7 exam also deserves special mention.
Finally, of the 61 pupils who sat this exam, 95% received recognition of their ability in Mathematics through the award of a Proficiency in Problem-solving certificate or better. These are our best results ever in an exceptionally difficult exam.
High Distinction certificates are only awarded to the top 3% of participants, Distinction certificates to the next 17% and Credit certificates to the remaining 35%.
