Sharing our taonga

Lily Manson —

This week our Y1/2 tamariki have been proud to share their taonga with their class.

Taonga is the te reo Māori word for a special treasure. The children have been delighted to bring in their taonga and share it with the other children. It has created a wonderful opportunity for the class to learn a little more about each other's whānau and culture.

While sharing their treasure, the children focused on developing their confidence and oral language skills. There has been some beautiful moments and stories shared. Thank you to those have sent a taonga along.
