Singing about Chinese New Year

Tania Gallagher —

Pataitai Pod celebrated Chinese New Year by singing some songs together.

On Thursday, Angelique visited the Pataitai Pod to teach them a new song to celebrate Chinese New Year. All the children got to have a turn at using some instruments including bells, sticks, gongs and cymbals. Some very lucky students had a turn at using a dragon puppet on a string as well. Chinese New Year is an important Chinese festival celebrated at the turn of the traditional lunisolar Chinese Calendar.  It is also known as the Spring Festival, the literal translation of the modern Chinese name. This year it fell on Monday 8th February.
