Our Maths focus for the first two weeks of term was volume and capacity.

For the first 2 weeks of term we were working on volume and capacity for Maths. During the first week we looked at different containers and tried to put them in order of how much they hold.  After working this out, we estimated how much they hold and then measured the amounts using a range of measuring equipment.

In the second week we learned about what a litre looks like and how to convert that into millilitres. Once we understood that, we used that knowledge to measure with cups, bottles, beakers etc. 

To follow up on this learning, we have had a volume and capacity Action Station so students can continue to explore and learn.
