Discovery Fun!

Roz Archbold —

All Year 1 and 2 children have the opportunity on a Friday to take part in Discovery.

There are a variety of activities on offer each week, from Cafe, Quiet Space, Arts and Crafts, Construction to Outside.

This week there was lots of interesting faces with raw broccoli and dip at Cafe.  Stories read by Lisa - our librarian and unicorn masks in Quiet Space. Mosaic stars at Arts and Craft. Lego and Duplo building. Outside we got the ball pump out and pumped up many balls and the children had a great time playing basketball and soccer - it's amazing how much better they bounce with air in them! Some children are fascinated by insects and bugs at the moment and they were out looking for bugs - a caterpillar was found and intrigued a few of the children.

4-year-olds that are enrolled to start at Merrin School are also invited to come along with their whānau and join us - we call this 'Tiny Stars'.

Please see Jeni Bargh (Room 1) or Jeanne Coker (Room 4) for more information.
If you would like to come along and offer help with a particular activity, please see your classroom teacher or Jeni - you don't need to have a child in Year 1 and 2 to share your talents with us.
