Ben Simmons shares one of his goals for the year...

Lisa McWilliam —

There are times in my life where I have to think like a tortoise to achieve goals.

In my writing I have to think like a tortoise to make it better. My goal in my writing is to be at 4b or higher in my e asttle test by the end of year 8. To achieve this goal I need to work slowly on each area of my writing. Some of the specific goals I have are to use more details and information in my writing, use complex and elaborated ideas, structural features which are appropriate to purpose and some show development (may be one well-developed element with others less developed), use correct sentence punctuation and start using more complex punctuation as my sentences become longer.

One of the things I am doing to improve my chances of reaching my goals is that I am having tutoring at Kip Mcgrath after school on Mondays. I have been going there for three weeks now and I have done some spelling, writing and comprehension.

I think that doing this extra work will really help me to improve my writing. I will be very happy if I am at or above the National Standard for Writing at the end of the year. This will happen if I continue to use a tortoise approach to my learning.
