Ms Shah and Liam by Lesley Black

Farewell Ms Shah!

Lesley BlackDecember 13, 2017

Ms Shah is moving to a leadership position at Rāwhiti School, close to her home. Rāwhiti School opened in 2015: a merger of Central New Brighton, Freeville, and North New Brighton schools.

Urmi started at Merrin in 2007 and has taught across most levels of the school. She should be proud of the 'string' of achievements during her time at Merrin: very involved in sporting activities (Jump Jam, Junior Athletics Day, soccer, netball, hockey); lots of work in the digital realm - Urmi was an early adopter, ('virtual' school with Year 5 - 8 gifted students, Digital Technology Leader - leading the teachers in 'Teacher as Inquiry', Coding Club, ICT Leader on the Tech Team, and completing a Post Graduate paper on digital and collaborative learning); and she has also been the staff representative on the Board of Trustees, on the Merrin School Fair committee, Inquiry Leader and Team Leader. Whew - makes a person exhausted to read such a long list!
