On the 24th of October I went to watch the ITM cup final. I got to play the curtain raiser and that means that I got to play a 24 minute rugby game before the match. The final was between Canterbury and Auckland. The was score very close, it was 25-23 to Canterbury. I lost my game 4-0. The game went to about 9 O'clock. It was very tense and at the end of the game I was screaming my lungs out!

My name is Mary Kearney and I teach a year 3 class in Putahi Toru team. I always say that I have the best job in the school because as well as teaching a super group of children in Room 20 I get to teach Reading Recovery which helps children who find reading a challenge. I find that this is extremely rewarding.

My interests outside school are travel, reading and my family. I have two adult sons, an amazing daughter-in-law and another almost daughter-in-law ( wedding pending). As well I have two fabulous grandchildren who are truly the lights of my life. If you haven't already seen photos of them please drop in and I can share some with you. I have been at Merrin School for many years and have stayed here so long as I find the school wonderfully resourced, filled with very talented and caring staff and amazing children.
