The pattern for a Haiku is 5 syllables, 7 syllables and 5 syllables.

Haiku poems are Japanese poems that relate to nature.

We have been discussing what inspires you to read a book.  Why do you choose one book over another? Is it the story, the cover or the marketing?  

Publishers are now spending up to $20,000 on producing book trailers in order to promote books to children.  The idea of making a short video to promote books took hold with the students in Rooms 14 and 15 last week and they began work on their own book trailers. The results were fantastic!
