Students in years 7 and 8 continue to be inspired by sophisticated picture books.
After completing a reading programme exploring rich visual language features in term one, students in years 7 and 8 are now writing texts based on some of their favourite sophisticated picture books. Students have chosen to write poems, newspaper reports, rumours, narratives, journals... all inspired by books such as "If I Was a Banana", "Voices in the Park" and "The Watertower". These images show students planning and drafting their work, independently writing using a text type of their choosing, and some of the fantastic results.
