Principal's message

Pictured are Tremain and Meta sharing their wonderful art journals. I was particularly impressed with their showcasing of our values.

I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend and managed to reconnect with friends and family again.

Day to day life at school is running smoothly with the children and staff returning to their usual break times this week. The cold weather has really hit and it is neat watching the children arrive in their snuggly jackets, hats, scarves and gloves, there are some fabulous knitters out there!  Wednesday afternoon Kapa Haka resumed  and it was wonderful to hear our students singing voices again.

We are in the midst of planning for our school cross country and are hopeful of running our winter sport tournament.  Laura Della Bosca is eager to hear from any parents and/or friends of our school who are able to coach and/or manage a team this winter.  For competition dates, please keep an eye on our school calendar on the website.

It is likely that the Government will move us to Alert Level 1 in the very near future and I'm sure that move will be well received by us all.  Like many of you, I have family living overseas and things are vastly different where they are.  Whilst there will be few, to no conditions, imposed on school life, we are hopeful that as a community we will maintain a high level of hygiene practise and importantly, continue to keep children home if they are unwell.🤧

To those children who are completing the 20 or 40 hour famine this weekend, good luck!  It's a really big challenge for a wonderful cause and you deserve to be proud of yourself for taking it on.   😀

Have a nice weekend and keep warm.

Lisa
