Things are starting to ramp up again with sports at school! We have been running the Primary Sports Canterbury Challenges at lunchtimes and the children have impressed us with their fantastic scooter skills so far.
Over the last 4 weeks beginning Monday 25th May, we have been running the scooter challenges at lunchtimes with some great results. The children have shown us that they can glide quite far with only one push and the tricks they have come up with have been amazing. Well done to all the participants. There's a few photos below of some of the scootering from last week.
This week, we are holding the skateboard challenge and next week we will be running the skipping challenges. The skipping challenges will be on Monday and Wednesday lunchtimes - Years 0-4 on Monday and Years 5-8 on Wednesday. The following Monday will see the hip hop dance challenge take place, I'm really looking forward to seeing these dances!
With regards to Winter Sport, it is likely that there will be some form of winter sport competition in Term 3. We will let you know more information as soon as we have it. If there are any parents who would like to volunteer as coaches that haven't already done so, please email lauradellabosca@merrin.school.nz
School Cross Country - Years 3-8 will be held on Friday 26th June at Burnside Park. More information to come shortly. Years 1-2 will be run at school on Thursday 25th June.
Thanks
Katie and Laura
