Tongan Youth Talk About the Volcano...

CSW —

... and share a song for Waitangi Day.

Juliet and Grace Fakahau, youth members at Wesley Broadway in Palmerston North, were recent guests on the weekly church radio programme, part of the Manawatu People’s Radio schedule on Frequency AM999. The programme aired live at 11.00 AM on Tuesday 1 February, and can be downloaded any time: www.mpr.nz/show/wesley. John Thornley was host.

Juliet spoke on the aftermath of the Volcanic eruption, and Grace discussed the song ‘House of Siege’, by two giants of Kiwi pop music, Moana Maniapoto and Don McGlashan. The bicultural history of Aoteaaroa is summed up in three verses. Email John (johngill@inspire.net.nz) and he will email you a copy of the words.

Sadly, like many provincial centres, we lose Juliet and Grace as they go to bigger cities – Dunedin and Wellington – for further studies. But their love for family and the home church will ensure they come back for holidays.
