Trinity Methodist Napier- Tongan Congregation 25th Anniversary

Trinity Methodist Napier —

On September 3rd, 2023 a combine service was held at the Napier Trinity Methodist Church, bringing together the Napier Trinity, Tongan and Korean Congregations.

This event marked a significant milestone, commemorating a quarter - century since the establishment of the Tongan Congregation on August 30th 1998.In those early days, Reverend Epeli Taungapeau, overseeing the Napier Trinity Methodist Church, keenly observed the growing presence of Tongans within the Church. He understood it was an opportunity to establish a Tongan branch within the church. The previous week held asignificant importance as we had the honor and privilege of welcoming back the founder Rev Epeli Taungapeau, to lead the combined service.

His presence also brought to mind his late parents, Uanisi and Tilisa Taungapeau, who were instrumental in the early days of our Congregation. He generously recounted treasured memories and reflections on our church’s journey over the past twenty five years.
