Covid Tyiptych
Dr Tralee Sugrue shares this haiku created for the Royal NZ College of GPs Scientific Conference poetry competition.
The Politician
A pandemic comes.
I’m responsible for lives.
Not done this before.
The GP
I’ve done this before.
Cared for the sick and dying.
This time’s not the same.
The Patient
Will death come to me?
My rest home isolated.
I long for loved ones.
