Children asked, What Would Jesus Do? by Image supplied

Welcome to Kidz Korna

Last Sunday the children at St John’s Methodist Church, Hamilton, heard the story of David and his son, Absalom.

Father and son didn’t always agree, but when Absalom was killed by David’s enemies, David was really upset. After hearing the story the children discussed this and saw that there are always consequences to actions. They also talked about how arguments could be de-escalated. First they asked themselves “What would Jesus do?” Then they came up with the lots of ideas as written on their word chart shown in the photograph,

Book Review

This easy to read and well-illustrated book is about kindness and standing up for yourself when others are not so kind and friendly. It is a story that children can share with their parents or caregivers. It tells how to make it clear to others that you do not want to play with them if they bully or are unkind in other ways.

The person who pretends to be a friend and isn’t nice to you learns that she needs to change for others to play with her. This book is also available on YouTube.
