Jesus The Abundant Life-Giver
John 10:10
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
In Jesus' job description
- He is the abundant life-giver.
- He wants to abundantly provide for you.
- He's not taking life from you.
In Satan's job description
- he is the taker of life.
- he comes to steal,
- to kill and destroy.
The word "abundance" means to live an advantageous life, to an extent where this advantage is beyond measure. It is super abundant in quantity and superior in quality. That is the kind of life Jesus provides for us.
Jesus came to restore us to the image of God. That means we are supposed to act like God, be like God and have what God has. When we accept the Word of God, we receive the abundant life Jesus came down on earth to provide.
God did not save us just so that we would go to heaven. Our salvation is relevant now for the kingdom. Christ gave us eternal life and He is the life-giver. When we receive Christ and become like Him, we are also called to be givers and dispensers of life wherever we are.
NZMWF is continuing to fellowship and unite through service, worship and study for the spiritual and social life of our members to be Christian witnesses in homes, church and community. We support the work of the church by growing in Christ and being life-givers.
