Light of the World
Last month the theme was God’s Light. First we heard the story of Nicodemus, who learned that God sent Jesus into the world to be a bright light to show people how to love one another. Jesus can be a light that helps people find a way when times are dark.
After that everyone joined groups to participate in activities that encouraged them to think about light. One group made suns out of fruit kebabs, another group made lamps with jars and paper, others one did a wordfinder puzzle and another group learned e new hymn, Christ be Our Light.

Title: Spotty the Zebra
Written and illustrated b:y Peter Millett and Raymond McGrath
Publisher: Scholastic, 32 pages.
This is a delightful book about being different. Spotty the Zebra has no stripes, she is spotted. The other young zebras laughed at her and teased her. She tried painting stripes over the spots but the rain washed them off. Her friend mole told her he was different too. He didn’t use his vision to help him to see. How did Spotty become happy? You can read the book and find out. You don’t need to buy it. Try your local library.
