The Wellington Methodist Endowment Trust supports and develops projects for children and young Māori or children and young people of other cultures in Aotearoa New Zealand. The Trust is looking for a new member willing to make a difference in young people's lives.

The Trust allocates grants to schools (and school-related organisations) in the greater Wellington region, to support projects that are focused on the personal development of children and young people – especially projects that are innovative and creative and help address inequality. The range of projects supported over the years include school kapa haka lessons, the provision of a bike track, assistance to attend school camps, and funding for in-school creative performances,

Feedback from schools affirms how valuable the funding is to promote projects that develop pride, mana and self-esteem in the students. We pray that the intrinsic values that students develop are life changing. The Trust is seeking a secretary to manage their administrative affairs.

The position requires 10-12 hours each month on average, with significant time commitments preparing for the two meetings per year and coordinating the school applications. Strong administrative and literacy skills along with competency in standard computer programmes and technology literacy including managing online meetings are a prerequisite. Most of the work is completed online and the position is provided with an honorarium.
