I hope everyone is enjoying the great weather we are having at the moment.

When it is hot, always remember to wear your sun hat and drink plenty of water. Grown-ups call it hydrating.

We are now in the season of Lent. Lent is the 40 days -not including Sundays - from Ash Wednesday to the Saturday before

Easter. During this time Christians around the world reflect on what Jesus did for us. He died to take away our sins.

Ash Wednesday starts things off and then, over a month later we celebrate Palm Sunday. The next week on the Thursday before Easter we celebrate Maundy Thursday when Jesus shared a meal with his disciples followed by Good Friday and the crucifixion

Then on Easter Sunday we all rejoice because Jesus rose from the dead.

I wish everyone a happy Easter.

Title: The Tale of Three Trees

Author: Angela E Hunt

Illustrator: Tim Jonke

Publisher: SPCK Publishing

This traditional folktale tells the story of three trees who grew up together on a hillside. They had their dreams about what they wanted to do when they grew up but what they dreamed and what they became surprised them. The first became a manger for animals, and one day it became a bed for Jesus. The second became a strong boat that carried Jesus and his disciples on the water. The third tree became a cross on which Jesus was crucified.

The story is beautifully illustrated be Tim Jonke.
