Year 8 Museum Visit

MGS —

Earlier this term...

...all the Year 8 students went to visit the Canterbury Museum to learn about early Aotearoa and the technology that Maori people used. Divided into two parts, the morning consisted of time spent in the New Zealand section of the museum looking at carved fish hooks and old artefacts, followed by time spent using the tools that Maori people used to carve, make rope and drill holes.

Year 8 pupils really enjoy hands on learning and this was certainly that! We worked with some great presenters from the Museum who made the trip a lot more exciting than what we imagined it would be!
