Year 9 Camp Poems

MGS —

Camp

Come with me on a trip in a bus to Mt White, Arthur's pass and I will show you a class of year 9s living their lives to the fullest.
And you will see waterfalls creating rainbows of light
And you will see shivering children happily climbing out of a dark cave, full of wonder
And you will see soggy feet walking over the stony riverbank, laughing as they tell each other stories
And you will see mountains with white tips as the sun light rises and turns everything red
And you will see tents lit up with torches as they happily drift off to sleep.
Come with me as the year 13 leaders start searching for the year 9s .
And I will tell you how fresh the crisp mountain air is when you feel the wind in your nostrils ,
And you will hear whispering in the dark woods while torches light up the green canopy,
And you will hear the croaking crickets when we stargaze at night,
And you will hear giggling laughter when the bathe under the ice cold waterfall and swim in the stream.
Come with me as we work together to achieve something bigger than ourselves and I will teach you how important community is
And you will learn that in order to do anything you will sometimes have to ask for help
And you will learn the importance of trust
And you will learn to look after the nature God created for us
And you will learn to be optimistic and enjoy life
So come with me as we embark on this journey where we will grow with each other as a community and a class.

Yr 9 Camp Poem

Come with me to Year 9 camp
And I will show you our adventures
And you will see the glistening of blue water, that is actually icy water
And you will see the dark hole that leads into rocks, cold water and need for survival
And you will see people lying their wet clothes outside the tent, hoping they will dry
Come with me to see our daily life at camp
And I will tell you about our experiences
And you hear nothing, only the sound of you breathing at night, and of course possums
And you will hear in the day time girls having a cracker of a time and there Girl talks, and boys doing whatever boys do
And you will hear the sound of tents collapsing with the gusts of wind
Come with me as we trust everyone
And I will teach you that we are all friends
And you will learn to listen to everyone ideas
And you will learn about God’s nature
And you will learn that we need to have fun and enjoy life
Come with me so we can re-live Yr 9 camp

Year 9 Camp

Come with me in a bus full of kids
And I will show you the green grass covering our Mt White camp site
And you will see forests filled with wildlife
And you will see a dark cave with a freezing river flowing through it
And you will see smiles and pitched tents all around
Come with me as we prepare for the talent show
And I will tell you how many minds were blown
And you will hear the fascinating stories told by our sit down comedians
And you will hear the cheers, the claps and the whistles from the audience
And you will hear the laughter erupting after each performance
Come with me as we take on many team challenges
And I will teach you the connections we make with each other
And you will learn the values of friendship
And you will learn so much more than you knew about other people
And you will have an amazing time in a friendly community
Come with me as we reminisce year 9 camp.

Year 9 Camp

Come with me to year 9 camp
And I will show you memories that will last for years
And you will see the honey golden rays of sun melt the icy blue air
And you will see the stars pour light down on you like street lamps on a long dark road
Any you will see the tip of Mount White glow and shimmer
Come with me to Kidson Lodge
And I will tell you about the talent show
And you will hear cooking pots banging together early in the morning
And you will hear bees and sand flies buzz around sounding like and orchestra
And you will hear rushing water as you wade thought hip deep ice water
Come with me for an experience of a lifetime
And I will teach you that friends are so important
And you will learn how to cook while bugs eat your ankles like hot chips
And you will learn how to trust more people
And you will learn to enjoy breathing clean fresh air early in the morning
