Young Enterprise Scheme Kickstart/Timata

MGS —

The Year 12 and 13 Business Studies classes...

...had their Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) Kickstart/Timata morning on Friday, 1st March. The pupils met at Ara and YES was there to run the session. Over the course of the day, more than 650 Canterbury pupils attended Kickstart/Timata and worked alongside each other to learn more about starting up their own businesses.

The highlights were team building activities in their groups (see photos), learning how to use a LEAN Canvas for planning, and speed coaching. Speed coaching is where the groups are given five minutes to talk to business experts to get feedback on their ideas and advice for moving forward with their business. All groups were able to talk to four or five different coaches and gain their valuable input. This was the favourite part of the morning for most groups, as they left feeling really positive about their business ideas.
