Founders' Day
On one of the few occasions when the entire school body, from new entrants to Year 13, gathers in the same place, Mr Vannoort inspired everyone with the words, ‘Small things matter, and amazing things can happen from small beginnings.’ He referred to the vision of the school’s founders whose steadfastness and resoluteness for the glory of God and thankfulness for His grace when facing many difficulties, have seen the school grow from small beginnings to over 1300 students. It was a fitting occasion to welcome all new staff and students to the Middleton Grange family. The opening pōwhiri and reply, a performance by the Kapahaka group, the singing of Alleluia, the introduction of the Head Students, and prayer and singing of the school hymn all contributed to the meaning and dignity of the ceremony.
‘Do your best, grow in character, seek excellence, honour God.’
