Programming Competition for Girls (PC4G)
Four bold...
...year 9 girls (Anastasia Dodd, Isobel Jack, Yeram Song and Zoe Brown) participated in the PC4G programming competition held on 16th November at the University of Canterbury. They competed against other Year 9 and 10 girls teams throughout New Zealand and finished 23 and 33. This was a great result considering that they only started learning programming in the Python programming language since mid-October on their own. They have done themselves proud having solved several tricky programming questions some of which are at the NCEA level of difficulty. They thoroughly enjoyed their time, and the challenge writing programs beyond their comfort zone.
