MGS —

Dear Parents, Caregivers and Whānau,

Last week members of the Middleton Grange School Board and the Senior Leadership Team met with a number of prospective families for enrolment interviews.  This was a very positive and encouraging experience, and a good reminder of why Middleton Grange School exists; namely, to provide a (Christian) education for Christian families who are active participants of a local church and who agree with our Statement of Belief.  Whilst we will endeavour to accommodate families who meet our enrolment criteria, sometimes this is not possible, simply due to the increased demand for places at our school.

As a Christian School, we endeavour to integrate our special character into everything we do – it is interwoven throughout the school day.  It plays an integral part in lesson content and presentation. However, it also plays a special role in Scripture classes for Year 1 – 10 students and in Christian Studies classes for Year 11 – 13 students.  Parents support the Special Character of our school through their Special Character Donation (SCD), which supports this work, as well as other aspects of school life, such as the provision of additional teacher aides and supported learning support, our Kahika Leadership Centre, and professional development opportunities for staff to learn and improve their ability to teach Christianly - which State Schools do not offer.  Can I please encourage ALL parents to prayerfully support this important work in the life of our school.  Remember that your donations are eligible for a tax rebate from the IRD.

All of our teaching staff are committed to sharing God’s ‘Big Story’ with our students (your children) and to pointing them towards Christ.  They desire to assist each student to reach their God-given potential and therefore prayer and biblical encouragement are a key component in all of our relationships and interactions.

BE ASSURED OF GOD’S PROMISES:

1 John 5:11

“And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.”

Do you ever wonder if you are truly saved – really and truly going to heaven?  Are you sometimes plagued with doubts?

“If you have confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believed that He is risen from the dead, you are saved” (Romans 10:9).  This is the record!  These are the facts!  This is what God has said, and His faithfulness is greater than your thoughts and feelings.  His Word is greater than your worries.

Read and claim verses like these.  “For I know whom I have believed and am persuaded.” (2 Timothy 1:12); “For I am persuaded that (nothing) … shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39); “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life” (John 3:36).

That is the record.  The Lord wants us to have a ‘know-so’ salvation and to be strengthened by confidence with that knowledge.  Claim the assurance of salvation today and rejoice in the certainty God provides.

Character – Excellence – Service: For the Glory of God
