Our leaders

It has been our privilege to have served Middleton Grange School as Head Boy and Girl this year.  It has been a year of new seasons, learning from those who have led before us and praying into the exciting future ahead.  It has been a time of growth and fulfilment, recognising the value of character exemplified in our school’s leadership and seeing how God is always good.  Through the support of a unified cohort, and alongside the godly guidance of our families and mentors, we have been encouraged by the faith-filled people who define Middleton.  While there have been speeches, meetings, event planning, expectations and responsibilities, what has stood out is the conversations we have had and the people with whom we have interacted.  From the Teddy Bears’ Picnic in our primary school to our new Thrive initiatives, we have witnessed first-hand how Turangawaewae is strongly integrated into the foundations of our school.  So much has happened in this short time, but we take with us the joyous memories of how, in the most intense moments, we have all pulled together in this unique community of belief and belonging.  As a school made up of many individuals, we have collectively battled with many emotions alongside major loss and grief.  But hard times, through the graciousness of God, have given way to the birth of a new intimacy and desire in the hearts of many pupils and staff to bind together in the unity of love. It is our prayer and desire that Middleton and its leadership never forget this incredible strength and continue to seek out relationship above all else.  God’s presence has been strongest in our school when we have been at our weakest.  Ultimately, Middleton will be more than just a place to us; it is the accumulation of memories and moments that only a school led by God could be privileged enough to experience.  It is a scrapbook of our failures and successes, the good and the ways we have had to battle to see this good.  We have poured our hearts into this school and this school has found its way into our hearts. It is with bittersweet emotions we say goodbye knowing how exciting our next journey will be, but also how beautiful and rewarding this adventure has been.  We hope and pray these words for Middleton as we leave:  And now these three remain; Faith, Hope and Love. But the greatest of these is love.’ 1 Corinthians 13:13  With blessings, Jess Swan and Zinan Bennett

Senior Formal - 'Olympus Awaits' was the theme so the venue was decorated with ivy vines, candles, vases and pillars; glamour and chivalry were the order of the evening.  Seniors once again displayed themselves tastefully and honourably to ensure a wonderful evening of dancing, flair and friendship.  A new venue, Hotel Rydges, Latimer, showered a new kind of glitz onto the proceedings.  Our King and Queen, voted for by Year 13s,, were Liam van Eekelen and Anna Malin.  It was a night to remember and the committee's attention to detail was well validated.  Chantelle Gribben - Year 13
