Welcome - New Staff

MGS —

Jess Drye

Kia ora, my name is Jess Drye and it is a huge privilege to be joining the teaching staff here at Middleton Grange School this year. I am excited to be teaching in the primary school as a first year teacher. I have lived in Christchurch with my family since we moved to New Zealand from South Africa in 2007. I am so thankful that I am able to stay in Christchurch to teach, where I am close to my family and my church family at Latimer church. I love the outdoors, art, reading, nature, exploring new places, animals, fitness and spending time with my friends and family. I am looking forward to helping students at Middleton Grange School learn and grow both academically and in their faith. I am also looking forward to becoming part of the school community and developing my skills as a teacher in a supportive Christian environment.

Caitlin Steele

Kia ora koutou, my name is Miss Caitlin Steele and I am the homeroom teacher of 8SL. I was born and raised here in Christchurch, I have two older siblings, I attend C3 Church where I lead the intermediate age youth program, I love all things sport and, I am actually an ex-pupil of Middleton Grange. My teaching journey began after completing a Bachelor of Sports Coaching followed by a Graduate Diploma in teaching and then securing a job at Saint Mark’s Primary school, in Term 3 2020 as a year 6-8 teacher. This was a unique teaching position as my main role and focus was to teach Literacy and Numeracy groups within each of the year 6-8 classes. This was a great starting point for my career.

I loved my time here at Middleton Grange as a student and I feel privileged to be able to return as a teacher and be a part of the students’ journey’s through school, faith and life. I am excited for all that 2021 has instore as I continue to grow and develop as a teacher, and as I connect back into the Middleton Grange School community.
