We were thrilled to get into the international finals of the Senior Ethics Olympiad, which was held on Zoom on the last Friday of the school holidays. In the regional events there were a total of 286 teams from five countries, so to be one of the 38 teams that were in the finals, and 2nd in the South Island (out of 14 teams) was already a great achievement. Our team, Josh Bedggood, Israel Thomas, Jung Woo Yi and Logan King were articulate, thoughtful, and logical in all three of their presentations, looking at both sides of ethical questions they were given. Their final place was 8th out of the 38 in the finals, 2nd in New Zealand out of the initial 48 teams (1st was Diocesan School for Girls) and they received a very deserving Honourable Mention.
