Dear Parents, Caregivers and Whanau,
We have now farewelled our Senior College students with a wonderful Prize Giving held on Tuesday evening that honoured all our students and celebrated their achievement. This was followed by the Tribute Assembly on Wednesday morning where the Year 13 students led a fantastic event honouring staff and students. Please remember to pray for all our senior students who are now preparing for external examinations. The Year 7-8 athletics day was a great success yesterday, despite the challenges with the strong winds! Our primary school students have had a lot of fun today, dressing in black, green, or gold, supporting the finalists in the Rugby World Cup this weekend.

2) Open your heart, open your home...
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to host an international student in your home?
Well, now's your chance! Middleton Grange School is looking for long-term and short-term host families.
Hosting a student is an exciting and rewarding experience. We have several short-term groups each year and we are looking for more families to host these students, usually for about two-four weeks. You will receive remuneration for hosting.
Just a reminder that for short term students we require a bit extra in the form of bringing them to school and fetching after school, showing the students around Christchurch, doing some additional activities with them, and basically giving them such a wonderful experience that they never want to leave. We do pay at a higher rate for short term students.
We are also looking for families wanting to host long-term students from three months to a few years. These students become one of the family and often the relationship lasts long after the student has left school. Again, you will receive remuneration for hosting.
If this sounds like something you can do or if you would just like to find out a bit more, please contact Annie Xia on a.xia@middleton.school.nz or phone 021 293 7436 or text and Annie will get back to you.
Please note: the school needs to follow Government guidelines for all host families. These will be discussed with you in detail.
3) MGS Goes Viral!
Last week we had a wonderful Performing Arts Awards evening, which featured a fantastic opening video with representatives from all our performance groups.
That video has gone worldwide over Labour Weekend, with a total of over three million views on TikTok, with 500k likes and hundreds of supportive and encouraging comments for our talented Tamariki.
You can check out the full-length version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBuhFUE_bjI
4) 2023 Highlights Video
At prizegiving we got to look back at some of the best moments of the year for our students.
