Koru Games
Koru Games began in 2014 as Christchurch’s answer to the Aims Games.
It is a multi -day multi -sport tournament held in 4 different locations around the Selwyn district. Middleton began participating in 2015 with approximately 20 children. (If anyone has precise records please send these through to Brittany for record keeping purposes.)
In 2015 with a team of about 20 we won boys basketball and boys table tennis
In 2016 with a team of about 30 we won girls basketball and boys table tennis
In 2017 with a team of about 40 we won Boys boccia and boys table tennis
In 2018 with a team of about 120 we won girls basketball, boys table tennis
2nd in girls badminton, girls squash and our mixed table tennis
3rd in boys basketball, and girls tennis
In 2019 with a team of about 185 we won boys badminton, girls badminton, boys table tennis- for the 5th year in a row.
2nd in boys basketball, girls squash, and girls table tennis
3rd in football and boys table tennis B team
4th in mixed tennis
5th in hockey
6th in girls basketball
Huge congratulations to these teams, some of whom had set their eye on this goal a full year ago at the previous games.
We are hoping to pass a stronger cohort of volleyball, badminton, table tennis and football players up to year 9 in 2020.
