The Year 7/8 STEM classes...

...have been learning how to problem solve through a variety of challenges given to them each lesson. One of the engaging tasks that students are asked to complete in groups is the Fire Engine Challenge, where students have to develop a Fire Engine that can move forwards and backwards and have a ladder that can move up and down through the use of a crank handle, rope and pulley. Not only do they have a physical challenge, but through the use of technology, students have the opportunity to learn how to safely wire together various components such as to get lights flashing and sirens pulsing.
