Blake Young Leaders Award

MGS —

On Monday 16th September...

...at the Year 8, Middle School Assembly, a representative from Westpac and the Blake Trust came to present Jarrah with the Blake Young Leaders award. It’s an award for year 5-8 students which she was nominated for earlier in the year.

Below is the citation for Jarrah.

Jarrah has been nominated for this award because of the excellent leadership she shows in KapaHaka, Dance, netball, and in many areas across Year 7 and 8. She leads with humility and integrity, always thinking of others. Jarrah shows outstanding initiative and is well respected by her peers. She looks outside of herself to make sure that others are treated in a kind and inclusive way. Jarrah has a positive outlook, works calmly in all situations listening to others.

It was quite a proud day for her Whanau as Jade, her older sister, was announced as the Māori Prefect on the same day! She’s another rising star, a proud wahine, coming up through the ranks at MGS! Watch this space.
