1) From the Principal
Kia ora Parents, Caregivers and Whānau,
As you can see by the photo below, we have enjoyed some beautiful autumn days over recent weeks, even after the end of daylight saving. Our students have a wonderful school campus to enjoy with many opportunities to relax, socialize or recreate.
I do want to express my appreciation to all the staff (teaching and support) for their work and efforts during term 1. They are an integral part of our school’s success, and I would also like to acknowledge and thank our Lord for His blessing and provision during term 1, which we should never take for granted.
Thank you also to the many parents who are actively involved in the life of our school, as was evidenced by the hundreds of parents who attended the recent Year 7 – 13 PPTC’s during the last two weeks; the many parents who supported the Primary School Cross Country on Tuesday and those who contributed to the staff morning tea today. Ngā mihi nui
Please ensure you read the school newsletter/s which came out in the last few days. There is much to be thankful for and to celebrate in terms of student successes and achievements.
Thank you for your ongoing prayers and support of Middleton Grange School.

May I encourage you with these words from:
I Cor 12: 17-20
If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact, God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
Blessings
Mike Vannoort - Principal (Tumuaki)

7) MGS Parents Group Cheese Roll Fundraiser
The mighty cheese roll. Forged in the ovens of Southland, spiced with Maggi's onion soup mix, and filled to the brim with tasty cheddar cheese, these are a treat from home not to be missed.
We will be making cheese rolls in bulk and freezing them in packs of a dozen, primed and ready to save your bacon when the whanau shows up and you're plumb out of kai.
Buy them online using Kindo by May 7, and will be delivered to primary classrooms or available for pickup from the primary hall the following week (details provided closer to the time).
The funds raised will go towards buying new kapa haka uniforms and funding other activities around the school. Please spread the word and encourage your friends and family to order some as well, you can place separate orders for them through your Kindo account and provide their name which will be added to the label.
For more information please contact Alison McLintock (c.a.mclintock@gmail.com).

13) MASH Holiday Sessions at Middleton Grange School
14. Buses to Rolleston
We’re pleased to confirm that commencing Monday 3rd May (first day of Term 2) the 2.49pm route 5 trip from New Brighton to Hornby will be extended to run to Rolleston, which will enable Middleton Grange students living in Rolleston to get home earlier and more easily. This bus is scheduled to arrive at the Church Corner bus stop at 3.39pm which gives the students plenty of time to get to the bus stop after school, and it is scheduled to arrive at Kidman Street in Rolleston at 4.16pm, reaching the terminus at Brookside Park at 4.33pm. Students should look out for a route 5 bus with the destination showing as Rolleston. This is a permanent change to the route 5 timetable, it has taken a little while to implement as it has required the bus operator to see whether they could accommodate the alteration and then make updates to a number of driver rosters as a consequence of it.

God bless
