2018 Pupil Leaders

MGS —

We hear from Amiria Reid and Patrick Henkel about being Head Girl and Head Boy for 2018.

Amiria Reid - Head Girl 2018

Kia ora koutou, Nga mihi nui kia koe

I am Amiria Reid, I am blessed to be Head Girl for Middleton Grange School this year.

My vision for the school this year is for students to grow more passionate in embracing their culture. My Maori whakapapa is very important to me. I believe a part of accepting who you are is learning about your cultural background.

In Revelations 4:11 it says, "Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honour and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed." I hope and pray for students within the school to grow their faith in the Lord and to claim for themselves the school motto Held in Hope, Pupuri te tumanako. I will strive toward this, in the Lord's guidance and strength.

Ka pu te ruha, ka hao te rangatahi. This whakatauki is discussing the value of growing and strengthening the young leaders of tomorrow.

God bless

Amiria

Patrick Henkel - Head Boy 2018

As Head Boy for this year I would like to leave knowing that future generations can feel comfortable and safe in their Christian faith. I would love for people arriving here to see Christ at work here and leaving wanting to know more. I hope that when I leave here future leadership teams can have a solid foundation to create new ideas and new events that can grow the school.
