Year 7

The year 7 STEM class have been developing their prototype balloon buggies which they will test, and then come up with some solutions to the problems that they face… which is generally surrounding the friction between the wheels and the axles, as well as the balloon interfering with the direction of travel.

Year 8

Here are some snaps of the Year 8 STEM in action! Their task was to develop a fire engine that can move forward and backwards, lift a ladder using gears, pulleys and a crank handle. There was also an electrical component that they needed to try to solve!

They have also been making cubes with pasta and marshmallows. We were looking at how to build objects with structural integrity!
