Morning Tea with Members of Parliament
On Friday 9 April, our Head Students, Mason Murphy, Amma Amoafo, Sam Ayers and Maia Keepa (Jung Woo was at a First Aid course) met at the Oxford Terrace Baptist Church hall with Members of Parliament, Megan Woods (Wigram), Duncan Webb (Central), Poto Williams (East), Sarah Pallett (Ilam) and Tracey McLellan (Banks Peninsula). Associate Minister of Education, Jan Tinetti, spoke briefly to the groups of student leaders from a range of Christchurch school, after which the students did some critical Networking!
Below is a thank you from the organiser to schools:
Just a quick thanks from the MPs for your attendance this morning. We hope you found it enjoyable.
All MPs commented how impressive the young people you have as student leaders are.
I asked one group of students who they most wished to meet and they said “we don’t really know any of them” which absolutely answered the “why are we here” question. J
We also enjoyed seeing the young people make connections amongst themselves. Many introductions were made.
