7LD South New Brighton Beach Visit

MGS —

On November 23, a year seven class, 7LD, went to South New Brighton Beach to pick up rubbish. We met a Park Ranger, and he told the children about the wildlife and how to protect it. Then they started picking up rubbish around a grassy area near the shore. There were many glass bottles and several pieces of plastic. Next, they had a morning tea break. After eating, many people played on a nearby playground. Then the class started on the beach itself, which surprisingly did not have as much litter as the grassy area. Many half-buried seashells dotted the sand, pricking the feet of some bare-footed students. Then it was lunchtime. The students feasted on delicious cupcakes and Anzac biscuits baked by the wonderful catering team.

After lunch, everyone scattered along the beach to finish tidying the beach. To celebrate the clean shore, 7LD settled themselves into groups and built sandcastles. It was an enjoyable day.
