Lunchtime Leadership Workshop

MGS —

The Te Ohu Kahika: Centre for Leadership Development and Influence recently held a lunchtime leadership workshop for all the school leaders. Student Leaders from Year 6, 8, 10 and 13 joined together for two hours of mingling, laughter, food and leadership development.

The focus of the workshop was on the importance of leading with vision: Vision that not only looks to the future and inspires but vision that understands the reality of the now. Understanding these two components of vision lends towards leaders who understand the times and know what to do and where to go. (Sons of Issachar 1 Chronicles 12:32)

The students spent time in groups that spanned the years represented. Together they dreamed about the Middleton Grange they hoped for and then assessed the Middleton Grange they currently experience. Groups presented their ideas and voice to their peers. The content they delivered was well thought out and the standout ideas will be forwarded to the Senior Leadership Team. The ‘pet day’ suggestion will be added in the footnotes.
