Y13 Camp

MGS —

The purpose of the Year 13 Camp...

... is to set the tone for the year and to encourage our Y13 pupils to take on the mantel of leadership as the school’s most senior pupils.

This year’s camp was, as usual, a most enjoyable experience and all attendees participated with enthusiasm, once again showing up the disparity in energy and in resilience against sleep-depravation between the young and the staff!

Our aims (above) were met, and most pupils have returned to school having bonded more tightly as a unit and ready to take responsibility for their part in developing the school’s culture and ethos. Hopefully, they have also renewed their determination to make the year successful academically!

Highlights included

· the first evening’s address given by Martin Swann, Team Doctor to the Crusaders and parent of the school, on Legacy.

· the sessions held with the boys and the girls separately where some good ‘business’ was begun – to be continued through the year.

· the House Challenge on the Friday night, which uncovered some hidden talent and gave expression to already known talent.

Already, we anticipate that next year’s camp will be nothing short of fabulous – get the date into your diaries now, Year 12!
