Year 10 Spanish pupils were learning to to create simile and metaphor using comparative language with city and nature vocabulary. Here is what Rafe wrote:

Mi vida sin ti es como las patatas fritas
sin salsa de tomate.
Soy la cascara de la naranja.
Estoy tan triste como un helado
en el suelo.
Mi vida es como una pizza,
Sin queso.
Soy un taco, pero no tengo carne.

Mi vida contigo es como chocolate caliente;
Eres el malvavisco!
Soy el cereal, eres la leche.
Cuando estoy contigo, soy un burrito de pollo.
Mi vida contigo es como una abundancia de lechuga.
Mi vida contigo es más dulce que el jugo,
pero te amo menos que amo mi comida.

Life is Food

My life without you is like hot chips,
Without tomato sauce.
I’m an orange peel.
I’m as sad as icecream
On the floor.
Mi life is like a pizza,
Without cheese.
I’m a taco, but with no meat.

My life with you is like hot chocolate.
You are the marshmallow!
I’m cereal, you’re milk.
When I’m with you, I’m a chicken burrito.
My life with you is like an abundance of lettuce.
My life with you is sweeter than juice,
But I love you less than I love food.
