All Year 9 Social Studies classes went to the Colombo Street Pump station for Education outside the classroom this term. This is 9SN learning about how Canterbury’s unique underground aquifer system is pumped up from the aquifer into the city’s water supply. We learned Christchurch is pretty lucky to have such clean water and without paying for the amount each family uses, we can easily take advantage of this resource! They also did some groupwork to discover how challenging it is for other countries to meet their very limited water needs.
