...for the 5th edition of the Canterbury Adventure Race, which was also the Canterbury Schools’ AR Championship, attracting many school teams.

527 competitors lined up for their 3, 6 or 9-hour events, which consisted of biking along the tracks and trails on the south bank of the Waimakariri River then running/walking through the Brooklands Red-Zone and Bottle Lake Forest, finding multiple checkpoints. 9-hour teams also had a kayaking section of eight checkpoints on the Brooklands Lagoon.

Teams finished at Spencer Park, with hot food provided by our great catering team, and soothing music from The Fridge.

Everyone enjoyed the courses, the navigational challenges and the very friendly and helpful marshals and helpers who were parents and staff from Middleton Grange School.

Thanks to our sponsors, Bivouac Outdoor, PURE nutrition, Meindl Boots and Athena Women’s nutritional products, we had lots of fantastic prizes and give-aways.
