The Senior Formal...

...is an event held annually for all Y12 and Y13 pupils at the school. It is a highlight of the year for most pupils and excitement gathers pace through the first term and a half as girls and guys are making decisions about frocks, suits, shoes, hair and makeup. A team of Senior pupils is responsible, under some guidance, for organizing all of the details and ensuring it reaches the expectations of all.

Naturally, such an occasion is not cost-free. Some pupils find themselves unable to attend on account of the cost. Compared to Formals at many schools, the Middleton Formal is kept at as low a cost as can be managed, and we are sensitive to whatever financial hindrances come to our attention.

One major cost factor is gowns and suits. This is often the thing that breaks the camel’s back and prevents pupils from attending.

To assist these pupils to be part of the “buzz”, we are wanting to set up a loan/donation system, whereby pupils can be provided with outfits to wear at minimal or no cost. To do this, we need a ready supply of garments that can be loaned to pupils and so we are appealing to you. If you have gowns and/or suits hanging in your wardrobes and would be willing to donate them to the school for a good cause, we would be truly grateful to receive them so that we can remove that barrier from those pupils who would love to come if only….
