With the sun shining...

...and the Rannerdale fields in excellent conditions, the Y9-13 Athletics Day took place on Friday 16 February. House colours were a prominent look as pupils showcased their house spirit, and the day was filled with exciting action and tremendous fun.

Gloria Agnew stole the show, breaking two Senior Girls records in the 100m and Long Jump, while Sofia Kennedy followed this up with further records in the Senior Girls 1500m and 3000m in the long distances races which are run separately to the day. This saw Sofia just pip Gloria for the overall Senior Girls Champion, our closest category by far. Other impressive individual performances saw Jonte Britten take out the Senior Boys title, Marisa van der Meer and Isaac Lopez the Intermediates, Maia Keepa and Tristan Bennett for Juniors, and Alice Wilson and Levi Ferguson in the U14 grade.

Our four house relays produced four different winners, while the Y13 pupils put on a stellar display to beat the staff in the final event of the day. After the final count up, Shackleton were clear winners overall, with Bowen in second and Wilson in third.

A fantastic day had by all, a huge thanks to all the staff for helping the day run smoothly and all the pupils for putting their best foot forward. Until next year!
